The aim of this subject is to provide students with an understanding on various historical development, design principles for set and stage design for theatre and film production. The introduction of principles of design for stage scenery and the fundamental techniques required for the execution and presentation of scenic designs. 

Theatre stage and set for film are limited space where performance, actions, objects, furniture, lighting and sound are happening. Various aspects of interior design – extending from the furniture in a room and the spatial characteristics – are to be taken up within such a frame of reference with the idea of encouraging and promoting breadth of thinking in an environment and interior design context, very useful within the profession.
