Architectural Thesis

The Eco-tourism potential of the Buliluyan remains unexplored. The development of tourism potential of the barangay would be embarked once the primary potential industries already identified and fully unexplored with the support of proper community planning. Moreover, Buliluyan Port is currently undergoing rehabilitation and expansion of facilities to accommodate the imminent mass arrival from Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. In line with this, Buliluyan, Bataraza, Palawan: The Next Eco-Tourism Destination, A Proposed Community Planning aspires to support the thriving economic and eco-tourism growth through the full utilization and proper management of the municipality’s physical resources. This study aimed to determine the issues in environment, physical planning and other correlated aspects and to provide an architectural solution that will improve the pedestrian mobility, sustainability and livability of the community.
The main goal of this study was to propose a community plan to promote the eco-tourism and natural resources of the municipality and uplift the living standards of the people. Furthermore, this community planning aimed to facilitate development patterns to support pedestrian mobility, safety and a more positive pedestrian experience to further introduce and promote not just the province of Palawan but also the undervalued municipalities of the south to the people of the adjacent Asian nations, Brunei and Malaysia. In conclusion, the study was conducted through a series of interviews, consultations, data gathering and comprehensive mapping and analyses about the physical and socio-economic aspect of the community. The proponent provided a strategic community planning that would answer the community’s issues and problems.
