Sticky Stickers
Stickers are everywhere! You see them on cars, laptops, and even water bottles. People use them to express their personality. For this project, I set out to make designs for stickers that I would be willing to showcase on my own laptop or water bottle.
Sketching Process

My sketching process involved throwing down every idea I could think of. Some of my ideas were simple, while others were way out there. I even had some ideas for stickers based on the Wonderful Wizard of Oz novel or novels by H.G. Wells.

After showing my sketches to others and getting their feedback on what was easy to understand and what wasn't, I narrowed things down to three ideas and drew them out in more detail before going digital:

My three ideas ended up being based on a zombie with a smartphone, representing how people tend to be like zombies on their devices, the tin woodsman from the Wonderful Wizard of Oz holding a real heart, and an egg boxing, showing a juxtaposition of a fragile object in a rough environment.

Digital Drafts

I received lots of helpful critique from my peers to help me bring these designs together.

For the zombie, there was concern that the design felt flat. It was also noted that the hair looked odd as did the thumb. There were also some small details such as butt-caps for some the strokes.

For the tin man, I received some feedback about the heart having some weird tangents. This icon also felt flat and the shapes were not all equal in size and shaping.

The egg had some issues with the crack looking off and not making sense. It also suffered from being a bit flat.

I took all of these issue into account in order to come up with my final designs.

Final Stickers

I am very pleased with my final sticker designs. I used lots of shading and highlights to give them more depth. I also worked on more detailing for the zombie.

For the tin man, I remade the heart to match the style of the character more. I also reworked the shapes to feel more unified.

I changed the crack in the egg to feel slightly more realistic. I also added some spots per a recommendation from a peer.

Conclusion
Overall, I think my designs turned out great. I feel like they feel more unified in style, while still being unique. I am glad to share these with everyone!
