MIRROR X FLOWER Embodied Interaction

Embodied Interaction
2019
|MIRROR X FLOWER

A large mirror combined with a multi-faceted small mirror into a flower. We use a variety of different materials to try out more different reflections.

We combine many mirrors into flower and use the brightness of the LED lights to imitate the breath of the person. By using light to illuminate the central part of the bulge and awaken the flower, the function of the sound sensor will be switched on.
After waking the flower, People will be able to interact with the flower in an interesting way. The little mirrors change direction randomly because of the sound. Moreover, the surrounding light varies depend on the angle of reflection, which connects the interaction of people, machines and spaces.
Strong concept
Bring objects to life
Interesting interaction
Connection between people and objects
Materials
- Arduino
- LED light
Servo motor
Acrylic
Glassy paper
Black cardboard

Situation

Blooming

After the light irradiates center part, the mirrors around the center will gradually move away as if waking up the flower to life.

Laban movement analysis:Use light,slow/weak/bound/1-direct

Breathing

After waking up, the flower begins to breathe. The lights in the big mirror will start to shine while the sound sensors turn on. As soon as people make a sound, the mirror change direction.

Laban movement analysis:Make a sound,quick/strong/free/indirect
