Jamaican-based designer "Nocturnal Designs" contacted me stating he wanted to redesign his logo. He wanted a logo that was fox-based with stars incorporated into it.

I've actually known him for a couple years (he's an old friend) and had an idea of how he wanted to represent himself.

He's a fairly quiet person, introverted, and likes keeping things simple . He also likes somewhat "dark" aesthetics.

That being said, I designed a logo that matched this representation. I made a very "quiet" design that embodies the feeling of the nocturnal theme, simplicity and quietness.

For example, the light version of the logo is actually off-white. Using an absolute #FFFFFF was way too bright and pronounced to capture the feeling well. A muted white was more effective in doing that, as subtle as the shift may be. Another detail would be the font. I purposefully used a very light sans-serif with high tracking to make the typeface as non-intrusive and quiet as possible, while still being attractive to the eye. The typeface was also hand-picked to complement the brandmark well.
