An academic assignment to recreate an album art of our favourite artist. I chose the album Views by Drake, the original artwork is Drake sitting on top of Toronto’s CN Tower which implies that he is sitting on top of the world, literally and metaphorically.

Initial conceptualisation using the stippling technique with macron pens.

Created a lighthouse using Sketch Up 3D - The lighthouse was chosen to represent, literally height and metaphorically Drake’s achievements and growth.

Used the software Lumion to create a surrounding environment - The light house is disintegrating because of the obstacles he has faced throughout his life, one piece to represent each of the albums he has released, six albums so far. This has been done to represent his growth after each album and how he's slowly and steadily rising to the top.

The cloudy background represents the heights Drake has reached in life. How he is up in the clouds.

The rocky land represents how he had a tough childhood and how he started from nothing to reach where he is today, sitting in the clouds.

Album Art Cover Page - The ray of light from the lighthouse represents the future and how he still has a long way to go and is an element of positivity. The typeface chosen is bold and impactful to align with Drake’s personality, how he is in the industry to make an impact and stay for a long time.
