I am a huge fan of the cartoon Steven Universe and I wanted to show my love by creating an art piece that not only I can enjoy, but the fans of the show can enjoy as well.
A running joke in the Steven Universe fandom is that since Steven is so short, he does not have a neck. Now, that Steven is two years older and has gotten taller, his neck has finally appeared and the fandom has exploded with not only happiness but joke memes as well. I wanted my piece to not only fit into meme art culture but I also wanted it to express my love for these characters that I have watched grow into the “people” they are today.
