A 100 Years Later

A Musical Archive commemorating the centennial of the 1919 revolution.

This packaging design is an authentic take on the reputable and prestigious Egyptian Revolution of 1919. 100 years ago, Egyptians, fueled with passion, emerged on the streets to protest for what is rightfully theirs. This project provides a historic archive of the most memorable songs of the revolution as well as a photo documentation of Egypt in the early 20th century, reflecting on the song's meanings and stories of the ingenious Sayed Darwish. It represents the authenticity of an event that has managed to reform the life of Egyptians.
"This is What has come to be"
As part of the centennial celebrations of the  American University in Cairo, a Student Exhibition was held and the musical archive was showcased along with other students' contemporary design reflections on the 1919 revolution. The exhibition was inaugurated on February 9th.

The closing event ran a panel discussion on the political aspects of the revolution. The musical archive was released as a limited edition and a musical concert of Sayed Darwish's most memorable songs was held.
