Theme: The Passing of Time
Title: 11:00am
Technique: Pencil drawing
Process: I used a 2H pencil to draw the basic outline and a 3B pencil for the shading. I made sure to place the cup under a white light to emphasise the shadows and darker areas to make sketching the cup easier. I started drawing from the top to the bottom, making sure I got the basic outline of the cup accurate first before I started on the shading. To make the shadows more realistic, I used my finger to smudge the marks to give it a more organic and "messy" structure.
Reflection: As this is the first drawing, the shape of the cup was disproportionate and looked more like a rectangle than a square. The shading and shadows also look a bit rough and the lines of the shadow is still visible. To improve on the shadow, I won't use harsh lines and practice makes perfect when it comes to the shape of the cup.

Technique: Pencil drawing
Process: The way the passing of time was documented was drawing the cup every 30 minutes and seeing how much water has been drunk during the period of time.
Reflection: The shadows of the cup and the shading improved from the first drawing. The drawing is quite messy and has a lot of unnecessary lines and smudged marks, with the next drawing I should make sure everything is neater by erasing unwanted parts.

Process: For each drawing I have to ensure the amount of water left over in the cup is clear and the difference in water levels is visible.
Reflection: This drawing is a lot neater and the shadows are also more realistic. There are visible improvements from the previous drawings.

Reflection: The level of the water isn't very noticeable and looks quite unrealistic. The water has a flat, 2D look to it in comparison to the other drawings. The water level is the key element of the drawing as it relates to the theme, if it isn't represented and shown properly, the image/drawing won't portray the theme and meaning as well to the audience.

Technique: Pencil drawing
Process: This is the last drawing in the series, it show's the passing of time as the glass was full in the beginning and 2 hours later the glass is empty.
Reflection: The shape of the cup is a little off as it looks like a rectangle, but the drawing does show a realistic drawing of an empty cup. The shadows were done well, the different shades of the shadow really help show where the light is coming from and how the glass cup reflects it onto the table.
