"First Date" was my final project for my Elements of Visual Thinking II class. I chose to use cupcakes to capture awkward and intimate moments that I have shared with five different men. The toppings and fabric I chose reveal subtle hints about the identity of these people. I have taken the idea of a casual picnic scene, which is often portrayed as a romantic gathering for two, and altered it so that I am only setting a place for myself. Having never been on a real first date before, this picnic was the closest I've ever come.
