VECTOR ILLUSTRATION | Antarctica

Antarctic Albatross: I have always been impressed with what you can do with InDesign artistically. I had an idea for a scene that I wanted to do in vector, so I decided to give it a go in InDesign. The textures are accomplished in two ways. 1) I created large square files in InDesign of one color that were given a directional feather with a lot of noise. Then I exported these files as png files (to maintain transparency). The files could then be placed into a object frame that was already colored. 2) I also just used the feather effects with a lot of noise on the fill of an object. In some places (like the clouds), I layered both types of textures by varying the transparency of the objects.

The Albatross is the one area I cheated a bit in as it is a trace from a photo of mine.
Final
Travel poster variant.
I used what I had learned in creating the above work (I even re-used some of the elements).
