Found Umbrella, Copper Taffeta, Conductive Thread, LEDs, Electronics
On a rainy day, Brainstorm umbrella illuminates when water touches the exterior cover.  Each side of the umbrella is made up of individual pieces of copper taffeta that have been laser cut and strategically ironed on to create a touch switch circuit that connects the interior and exterior.  The circuit is completed when water (a conductive liquid) comes in contact with the exterior.  Hand sewn conductive thread, LEDs, resistors, and transistors are used into the interior circuits and powered by 9-volt batteries.  Brainstorm is a piece that further investigates art and technology and how humans interact with the environment.
