This work formed the exam for my AS Graphics course. Each artwork focussed around a fictional mental health awareness campaign aimed at high school age children.
Final Piece - 'Tagged'
This was my AS Level Graphics final exam piece.

The artwork was aimed at raising awareness for mental health and also at preventing the labelling of sufferers of mental illness. By focusing on three mental illnesses and well known celebrities who have suffered in some way from them (the main visuals being Stephen Fry, Britney Spears and Jim Carrey, together with the names and vector silhouettes of other well known people you may not associate with these mental illnesses), the artwork helps to portray the idea that you're not alone, and that anyone can suffer.
The design was aimed at high school students so the use of celebrity role models and reference to Twitter followers (social media is often the most popular way of cyber bullying within schools) helps the artwork feel more relatable and also allows younger sufferers to feel less victimised.
These are some of the other solutions I explored for this brief.
By placing Wikipedia data on mental health into a word art generator, the major public understanding on the subject becomes clear.
This idea focussed on jumping to conclusions. When given a label, many sufferers are bound by the stereotype that follows and all too often, people fail to look deeper at the person below the illness.

By drawing the association between the popular movie scene from King Kong, it helps the artwork become more relatable to by my audience.
The next 3 images show my responses to the artist Ben Heine in relation to my project's topic.
and how are you today?
