There is still a large stigma around the uses of marijuana and the effects thereof as many deem it to be an addictive drug with negative effects on the body and mind due to the fact that smoking cannabis can make one “high”. This is largely due to misinformation and prejudice (as consumption of the plant is illegal in most countries) about the plant. Cannabis has many healing properties and health benefits. According to the website
“Health” (http://www.health.com/), medical marijuana can help with anxiety or PTSD, relieve chronic pain and nausea, can reduce epileptic seizures, and can even have anti-cancer effects as it can inhibit cancer cell growth. Not many people (cannabinoid users or not) are aware of the benefits thereof and still see the the use of cannabinoids as purely recreational. This can hurt the reputation of medical marijuana and have negative
effects in terms of the accessibility and legality of medical marijuana.

The Bobby Greenhash foundation
is an organisation dedicated to providing medical marijuana and cannabis-related products. The original colour palette and look for the organisation used bright green and white to signify the green colour of the natural marijuana plant. For the redesigning of the logo, package design
and poster, changing the colour scheme was important to avoid the general stigma of marijuana and in order to make it look more professional and attractive to a consumer experiencing the brand for the first time. This was also done to seem more inviting to a potential consumer that is unaware of the medical benefits of marijuana. We chose to redesign the packaging of Bobby Greenhash foundation’s products as the original and
current packaging does not communicate what the foundation stands for and does not attract the consumer at first glance. The poster was used as a way to communicate that marijuana (when used correctly for medical purposes) is not dangerous and actually has many medical benefits that can also alleviate many symptoms of
pain caused by various diseases and illnesses.
