Stop-Motion recruitment illustration for The Push's FreeZA program.
The Push is a youth music organisation who connect the music industry of today with tomorrows music professionals, creatives and audience.
My client has asked for a contemporary illustration which will work to recruit young people to the program in a way which captures the energy of youth music.
I have created a stop-motion paper craft illustration which hopes to have captured exactly that - the positive, energetic, happy, vibrant, dynamic youth of today through bold colours, organic shapes and strong contrasting elements.

My first draft. My ideas for this stop-motion was to capture the beat of the music through repeating elements growing and expanding. I have focused heavily on contrasting colours and organic shapes.
My second draft. My idea for my second draft was to go a little abstract and depict a person diving into water which then ripples out to the beat of the music. My thought process behind this was that joining a program of any sort requires a leap of faith and stepping into the unknown and by jumping off and diving in you're 'Pushing' yourself.
The Push provided me with a series of photographs taken at past events. I decided to utilise these by pulling out certain elements which showed energy and life. Using the pen tool in Illustrator I went through and traced the elements and compiled them together.
