The treasurer and chief financial officer of a commercial real estate company, James "Jim" Kasim has more than two decades of experience providing financial service solutions. To lay the foundation for his career, James Kasim earned a master of business administration from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business.

Having operated for nearly 100 years, the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business (USC Marshall) is Southern California's largest accredited business school. In recent news, USC Marshall announced it had achieved the number six position among top North American business schools in the 2019 University of Texas-Dallas Jindal School of Management’s Top 100 Business School Research rankings. Additionally, the business school attained the number seven place on the 2019 ranking’s international list of leading business schools.

In the announcement, Gareth James, the interim dean of USC Marshall, attributed its high rankings to the school's commitment to attracting leading scholars and conducting impactful research. For instance, its relatively new Institute for Outlier Research in Business focuses on outlier research, a method of supporting risky ideas with the potential for big payoffs.
