Disney Realness - Instagram campaign

How does social media affect us?

Instagram influencers portray an idealized image, intensifying pressures for flawless lives, bodies, and connections among young adults. Alarming studies depict a surge in mental health issues.

Our focus was on addressing challenging subjects and highlighting research findings. To render the message more approachable and relatable, we replaced real influencers with Disney princesses and princes.

My contribution was these following illustrations.

Renowned for her lengthy locks, Rapunzel endorses wigs from Rapunzel.se in this image. The prominent Swedish website specializes in hair extensions. Such Instagram collaborations are prevalent, sometimes involving misleading marketing tactics.

Prince Eric aims to flaunt opulence, donning designer attire, a gold Rolex, and diamond earring. Regrettably, his lavish facade masks financial struggles, highlighted as he clutches a letter from Sweden's "Lyxfällan," a TV show aiding those trapped in debt.

Research indicates that boys are increasingly grappling with body image concerns. The pressure to attain a muscular physique, often deemed ideal, proves challenging for many. Even Hercules feels the strain and seeks additional assistance.

Snow White, renowned for her unmatched beauty, faces the reality of aging amid the emergence of youthful influencers. To retain her title as the fairest, she opts for plastic surgery, reflecting the pursuit of eternal allure.

Struggling with self-worth, the Beast alters his dating profile using past images when he was a handsome prince. He fears his current appearance won't attract love, resorting to catfishing to connect with women.

In the realm of social media, influencers fabricate conflicts and friendships for popularity. Sisters Elsa and Anna staged a quarrel to attract subscribers, but rest assured, their real-life bond remains unshaken.

Opting for no bra and embracing her natural form, Jasmine, like many women, exhibits stomach rolls and breast sagging.

Rising among young girls, mental illness is prevalent. Aurora grapples with this challenge, relying on anti-depressants and sleeping pills for essential sleep and daily function.

Every illustration is crafted using Procreate. While some remain faithful to the original, others undergo significant alterations. Throughout, I maintain the original's color, depth, shading, and outlines, ensuring a cohesive yet personalized approach.
