2013: Design Workshop II – KITCHEN
The client for this project is a family of three, consisting of a 39 year old mother, a 40 year old father and their 15 year old son. They bought a small property to move out of their current apartment. There wish is to design their new home around functionality and practicality. Their current project includes redoing the kitchen and the bathroom, both rooms being 3.0 m by 3.0 m.
For the kitchen, the family requested a sleek and contemporary design, one which they can come home to and relax, forgetting their stressful life. It would be joined with an open plan living area on one side, to be able to entertain their guests, and having access to the back yard on another allowing for a patio extension to both living spaces. They would like a vibrant colour scheme, pleasant to the eye, with moderate storage space allowing the family to shop for supplies once every two weeks.
