This was the first project I did as an independent designer for the Sharanalaya Montessori Scool in Chennai. Using ecodesign principles with recycled, natural and sustainable materials our team created aesthetic landscaping for different areas of the school over a couple months in the early months of 2016. This project helped me find my voice as a designer and enabled me to see real tangible results while taking on the responsibility of executing a brief as per the client's needs.

We started by laying out guides for the main segments of our landscaping layout.

We then brought in our mud and mixed it with sand, lime and cowdung to create the flooring for the area.

After finishing the earthwork we planted the lawn by hand and added other plants, trees and flowers to finish the area.

Our vertical gardens for the school were created with old tires, scrap wood and other recycled material with plants from local nurseries.
