The Most Important Piece of the Puzzle is the One He Doesn't Have

JANE DOE, a short film from Corner Film Productions and NYU student Jeremy Cropf, follows a detective desperately searching for a missing teenage girl who's body has already been found and buried in another town. Inspired by the true story of Crystal Glasper, a Long Island teenager who went missing on Valentine's Day 2002, JANE DOE weaves two interconnected story lines together as it searches for one ultimate truth. The first story follows a Nassau County Detective in search of a missing15 year old junkie. The other looks at the attempts of a small town to come together and pay respect to an unidentified Jane Doe whose body is uncovered. The film contrasts the ugliness and pain of neglect, drug abuse and violence with the compassion and humanity shown by the townspeople as they come together to mourn their tragic Jane Doe.

In doing justice to the retelling of this story, we've been working with members of the Nassau County Police department including former detective Jim Curcio, in order to maintain a sense of realism and accuracy to the procedural elements. The goal of the film is to show the human face behind each statistic. Every person, no matter who they are, leaves behind a legacy of friends and family who grieve.
