In this project, we were asked to design and construct a pattern for a bag, which had to incorporate an original screen printed pattern. I chose to design a backpack for a young girl and used elements of the screen printed pattern, which I used primarily for the lining, throughout the rest of the bag. The outer shell was made from cotton twill, the lining was screen printed cotton, and the straps were made from canvas. The flower on the front of the pack was constructed with two layers of hand appliqué.
