My introduction to Baltimore - I spent my first summer in the neighborhood of Middle East, working with a group of youth but meanwhile engaging with the surrounding community. I learned what I perceived as the glue and most important element for families and the community to thrive in the face of obstacle: loyalty.  This series is a documentation of the less familiar but even more valuable perspective of the neighborhood and the people that inhabit it.
