Set in the world of Destiny
Watercolor and ink
9 in x 12 in, 26 pages
2019

This comic commemorates my efforts and suffering with friends while playing Destiny 2. Over the course of multiple attempts, we tried to complete a timed secret mission.
Influences
Chalk pastel, post-it notes, and ink

2019

I grew up reading fantasy, and it's had a major effect on who I am today, symbolized by the dragon overlooking the notebook. The quotes are collected from the authors who have influenced me the most over the years.
Wall of Shame (October 2019)
Charcoal and highlighter
3 ft x 2 ft
2019

Donald Trump's usage of presidential power to pressure a foreign country to hinder a political rival is unacceptable. As a response to this, I made this piece. First, I printed out the full text of the whistleblower report. Then, I highlighted the most concerning parts. After that, I covered everything with charcoal, and created images by erasing it. This piece shows everybody known to be involved at the time, clockwise from the top: Mike Pence, Gordon Sondland, unknown others, Rudy Giuliani, William Barr, and Mike Pompeo. In the center is Donald Trump.

This piece is up to date as of October 2019.
Hunter's Point
Wood, string, stone, and beads
2 ft x 1 ft x 1 ft
2019

The sticks in this structure map out the contours of a set of mountains near where I grew up. The string shows the trails in that area, leading to Hunter's Point, a vista area that shows the land for miles around it, marked by the stone.

This structure was constructed without a single drop of glue. To attach the sticks, I carved out notches at the joints, then bound them with string. The rock is similarly held through string alone. This entire structure is freestanding.

Crossbow
Wood
18 in x 18 in x 4 in
2019

I built a fully-functioning miniature crossbow. It fires by pulling backwards on the bottom trigger, which lifts the string and pushes the projectile outward. The clothespin clamp helps keep the projectile in place. It has a range of about 30 feet.
Converted
Wood
14 in x 5 in x 11 in
2019

This is a scaled-up model of a USB to USB-C converter. The two USB sticks can be taken out and inserted into any of the holes, similar to an actual converter.
Windsock Puppet
Polyester, CPVC pipe, cardboard, paper, and polypropylene
5 ft x 3 ft x 1 ft
2019

This puppet flies in any conditions, wind or not. The main source of lift is the middle tube in the body, which has a smaller exit than opening. When air flows through, it forces the tube to inflate. The tail and wing streamers also increase lift, while providing some stabilizing drag. The wings are reinforced with an interior layer of polypropylene to maintain their shape. The pipe acts as both a handle and a way to direct the puppet.

If the airflow of the current space that this puppet is in isn't enough to make it fly naturally, it can be made to fly by swinging the handle in a circle or some other movement that causes air to move through the middle tube.
