Tiki Bar Redesign

About this Project

This project is a design for a tiki bar, "Tiki Haven" located in the Sunset District of San Francisco, CA. Designed for an interactive design class, our assignment was to build a functional website using research, wire framing, and front-end development.
Research

Our research was conducted through a general interview process in which we interviewed two customers sitting at the bar and a bartender. Questions were predetermined in order to better understand the identity and general information about the business and its customers.
Here is a summary of the collected information received by the interviews:

There are 10 employees (2 managers, 8 bartenders)
Friday and Saturday Nights are the busiest
Locals are typically older in age, however there are a lot of college students from San Francisco State University.
The Tiki drinks are all blended and the #1 selling is the volcano bowl.
There are specials everyday which are offered at affordable prices

Customer #1:
1st time there
It's convenient (local) and the outside looks inviting and interesting
Knew about the specialty drink bowl (volcano bowls)
Occupation: Software engineer

After synthesizing our answers, we were able to prioritize what information was most important for the customers and the business.

Core features to include in website redesign
Display the theme and decor on home page
Influence people to bring a group of friends
Advertise volcano bowls
