Generative hedge cutter
a project that aimed to redesign a Fiskars hedge cutter into a more sustainable version. The project was centered around life cycle analysis
The first concept was able to be both a hedgecutter and a lopper and the second concept had generative design handles to save material and weight.
sketching in 2D & 3D to get the right feel but also to create two different grips without having an extending mechanism
generative design tools in Solidworks created a model that used less material. the handles were also made to accept a lopper attachment. the model was made in mdf
Edu-pak analysis, yellow is the original hedge cutter and the green is the new one. On the left you have CO2 and on the right is energy consumption during manufacturing.
