The Farmer and the Corn
Three composite images were created for a digital billboard promoting mobile irrigation software. The billboard image changed each month over a three month period. For phase 1, the original shot was extended to fit the billboard proportions. The next two phases displayed maturing corn to emphasize growth. The original source image and stock are also shown.
Solar Industry Equipment
The source renderings were all supplied as flattened art. In addition to removing dated equipment, illustration was required to draw new equipment from photo references. That new art was then integrated into each scene. For the residential image: a breaker, EV charging station, and outdoor unit were all drawn and added. For the utility image: a transformer, string inverters, and switchgear were also drawn and added. For the commercial image: rooftop cables, switchgear and hidden parts of the EV chargers were drawn and added. The original source images are also shown below.
Pump Station in the Desert
The original pump station photo required an extension to span a 2-page spread for a brochure. In addition to adding more desert landscape (from a stock image), the pump station structure itself had to be extended since it was cropped off in the source. The lighting difference in the desert stock was adjusted to match.
Solar Panels
The original solar panel photo was company-owned and had to be used on a 10-foot portable trade show booth. Three stock images were used to add a brighter sky, landscape, reflection, and concrete wall texture. The sun was painted in with the airbrush and smudge tools.
Hospital Reception Desk
The client requested the column to be removed. In addition to filling in the obscured background, the shadow and reflection from the column was also removed.
Medical Device and Flower Garden
A corporation's medical device was added to the stock model in each of these composites. The source of the device was taken from another image. More definition and contrast was added by request. Among other requests, the images had to display as home banners on the client's website. For that reason, the flower garden was extended to match the required proportions. Blue tone was also added to the sky.
Surgery
All blood drops and stains were removed. Hot spots were softened on the surgeon's face. The yellow cast was also removed and color corrections were made.
Restoration
Old family photos of my grandfather and great grandfather were restored. High resolution scans were taken from old prints... and then Photoshop happened.
