Bulgaria - Ghost town
The little village of Tsareva Livada, on the edge of the Balkan National Park, Bulgaria, has known better days. Looking at its spacious railway station with a large number of tracks, the wide streets, it must once have been a thriving town with industry of some importance.
Now the streets are almost empty, flowers have taken over the pavement, the roads are crumbling. The population has fallen to a little under 700 people. Three out of four houses are abandoned. The little kiosk opens only on Saturdays.
At the station a donkey drawn carriage waits for the train. Most of the trains pass by. They now only stop here twice a day.
It is almost like a Ghost Town with an old steam locomotive as its main attraction.
