    THE invisible memories
    OF SOUND

Nature is slowly taking its place again. Human traces remain. The invisible memories of sound shows us the unnatural auditory memories that have remained in this place. But fortunately sounds are temporary and lose their power over time.

This forest is part of an old German caserne, which was taken over by the French military after the Second World War. The forest was used as a training area. Since 1991 the caserne belongs to the nearby town and is used as a natural stone park. The memories are still there.

For a moment we entered a forest that has experienced a lot. Unnatural, man-made noises and sounds are stored in the trees and stones. This video tries to capture them visually.

Here are some selected stills of key moments. We enter old territories. Some are open, others are closed. The unnatural colouring visualises the past sounds.

   MAKING OF
THE invisible memories OF SOUND is filled with small audiotive details. It was important to bring in the old memories like the time of military, but also the timeless elements like trees and stones into this composition.
Thanks for watching!
