Diving With Dinosaurs - Broadnose Sevengill Cow Sharks of South Africa
The Broadnose Sevengill Cow Shark is recognizable because of its seven gill slits, while most shark species have five, with the exception of the members of the order Hexanchiformes and the sixgill sawshark. An opportunistic predator, the broadnose sevengill preys on a variety of animals and has been found at a depth of 1,870 feet (570 meters) in offshore waters.
