The interior of a small house near Kyiv was designed for a young couple with a child who decided to move to a quiet suburb to escape from the noise of downtown. The clients’ wish was to create a modern Scandinavian interior with classic items.
The clients were completely satisfied with an existing layout of the house, so the walls were left unchanged. All the necessary facilities, such as: a kitchen-living room, two bedrooms, a large bathroom with a window and a laundry room, combined with a walk-in closet, were successfully located on an area of 76 m2.
The colour scheme is simple: smoky grey, green and beige shades of the walls, a white floor moulding and white doors with fielded panels determine the style colour base, typical of the Scandinavian interior. Travertine-look ceramic porcelain tiles are on the kitchen floor, living room and bathroom, and oak parquet boards are laid in the bedrooms.
Since the small closet could not cope with its storage function, we decided to render suitable one of the walls of the master bedroom for a large floor to ceiling wardrobe, to match the colour of the walls, laced with mirror inserts. In addition to a large accent bed, the room also has a comfortable reading spot with an armchair and a banquette footrest.
At the request of a client, we gave our special attention to the kitchen. She is fond of cooking, so there was a need to fit all the necessary kitchen appliances, as well as a wine cooler in a relatively small space. There is no regular dining table in the kitchen; instead, there is an island with bar stools, which is convenient for both cooking and dining.
Children's room for a seven-year-old son is performed in restrained colours. The same grey walls, white wardrobe facades and a subdued green bed are interspersed with a bright carpet and yellow pouf. The graphic panel on one of the walls was hand-made by artists from @pimp_my_wall
The mistress of the house dreamed of a freestanding bathtub, which we managed to place near the window. A classic cabinet for cosmetics, a bright plum-coloured curtain with a tassel tieback and a mirror niche with glass shelves – all this gives the room a cosy, somewhat boudoir look.
