“The Blind Owl” is a fiction novel written by Sadegh Hedayat, an Iranian author. The concept of the story is about the presence of death, and it is a haunting tale of loss and spiritual degradation. I place the writer’s portrait on the front cover and I made the photo blurry in order to give a sense of ambiguity and delusion. There’s an owl in the story who swallows the main character’s papers. I considered this part of the story and  I painted with the torn paper brush to have a paper cut effect on edges. The whole book cover is in black and white because I thought it would convey a sense of mystery and imagination.
