Mobile Computing Receives High Impact Rating

Dr. Jie Wu, who earned his PhD in computer engineering from Florida Atlantic University, serves as director of the Center for Networked Computing at Temple University. In addition to his position at Temple, Dr. Jie Wu has been a member of the editorial board of the journal titled IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing since 2018.

First issued in 2002, the journal, a monthly publication of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Computer Society, is an oft-cited peer-reviewed publication that covers key technical topics related to mobile networks, mobile communications, emerging technologies, and related matters. In 2018, Clarivate Analytics' Journal Citation Reports revealed that the journal earned a high impact factor at 4.474, which reflects how often the publication was cited in the research community.

The editorial board consists of the editor-in-chief, two associate editors-in-chief, and 70 associate editors. Each member of the board hails from an academic institution or respected technology corporation.

Every article published in Transactions on Mobile Computing is peer-reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Each peer review follows the IEEE PSPB Operations Manual, which sets forth a set of principles and guidelines that need to be adhered to.

The March 2020 issue of the journal features an article entitled, "A Machine Learning Approach to 5G Infrastructure Market Optimization." The piece discusses how an algorithm could determine the most effective ways to proceed with network slicing in 5G networks.
