Sketches and two designs are included in this project progression. The project explores lyrics from songs that focus on depression awareness, and animals who symbolize strength. The lyric on the butterfly is from “The Difference Between Medicine and Poison is the Dose” by Circa Survive. The lyric on the owl is from “Make It Stop (September’s Children)” by Rise Against.

 

The purpose for this project is to increase awareness on the second leading cause of death in the US for ages between 10-24 (sourced from The Trevor Project). This project is also healing for me, as I am a suicide survivor.
