Da Vinci Art Alliance - Branding

Da Vinci Art Alliance, an art gallery in South Philadelphia, had contacted me to create a new identity for their brand. They had been utilizing a logo that relied on the profile of Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man and they wanted to get away from that direct connection and create a more subtle logo for the gallery that could convey a sense of ellegance.
After researching the different logos that galleries both in Philadelphia, and prominent international galleries used, we settled on a minimalistic and straightforward approach. A thin border wraps the stacked DVAA letters with a similar line weight. The teal color was selected because at the time, there were no other galleries in Philadelphia that utilized that color on their branding pallete. And since teal is a cool and constant color, it indicated a sense of stability and open - communication with a touch of youthfulness.
Here's a collection of the research that was presented to Da Vinci Art Alliance
