Proteinea is an early-stage startup and amongst the few biotech and food tech startups in Egypt. Proteinea aims to revolutionize the future of our food value chain while helping the environment and improving the health and wellbeing of animals and humans alike. They grow special types of insects that are fed on organic waste to replace fishmeal and soybeans in aquaculture and animal feed.
They utilize technology to build their know-how that is suited for the emerging markets from building and managing the farm to sourcing the organic waste and dealing with the local customers, with the aim to lead the next wave of transition towards a sustainable future and with the main goal of Securing the Future of Feed and Food.
