Rustic Package Design for Oatmeal

Oatmeal Package with Custom Watercolor Sketches for Design Contest
The challenge was to offer a new design of a package for oatmeal. Two my ideas made it to the final, here I present them the first one.

The idea is based on a pun. In Russian, the name of the porridge and that of a yellow hammer sound the same. Thus, I decided to use it and through reference to nature, to accentuate the 'greenness' of the product because today farm products are a hit. What's more, I reiterate this idea with the rural pattern reminiscent of a tablecloth or a cover in the village. The text box, simultaneously, look like a handmade table napkin. I also took into consideration the consumer's convenience. Often, while cooking porridge we don't know without a measuring cup how much we need for one portion. For that reason I put on the side of the package a linear scale, which might be quite handy. All the sketches are mine as well.
