In 2007 K9 Friends Shelter was given an eviction notice and had a couple of weeks to find new premisses, and/or find homes for the over 100 or so dogs in their care, if not, many dogs would have to be put down. This awareness campaign touched the heart and got lots of public awareness. At the end of the week, a kind Emirati had stepped up and given K9 Friends bigger and better premisses, plenty of dogs had been given homes and none of the dogs in K9 Friends care had to be put down.
