Starting out- I sawed out the shape of the swallow on a brass sheet, which I then chased the feather pattern into.

The next step was cutting little feather patterns out in the body of the swallow for the tea to drain through, and then making the body bulge inwards through a process called "sinking and bouging."

The final step- sanding and polishing for days, and then plating it in silver so that it can be safely used as a tea infuser!
