Something's fishy

Something’s fishy is the outcome of a 6 week long course where we explored complex weaving structures on dobby looms. My inspiration was a Siamese fish. It is a fighter fish also known as ‘betta’ fish that is native to Thailand. These tiny beautiful fish on aggression may attack the other fish in the aquarium. 
The first step was to create paper explorations based on the inspiration and the key words that one had derived. The delicate fins and veins of the fins are explored below. To achieve a raised texture, fevicol was used. 
For a higher raise and tactility, a cord of 2mm thickness was used. Starting from the shape of the fin and then zooming in to focus only on the veins in the sample below, the movement of the veins was tried to capture.
Below are some initial explorations done to understand weave structures.
