Utopia By Order Made
As I am inspired my the film Never Let Me Go, I read utopia in this project as forever life. If we can use advanced organ transplant in the future and finally actualize forever lives for a small amount of people, who live in the top level of the pyramid of our society, will the world become utopia to them? And is it a dystopia to everyone else, including the clones that we may create in the future for organ transplanting?
My initial idea is to design the logos for the commodities in this trade—the organs. This may include hearts, lungs, livers or kidneys. I researched about logo design and get inspired by the logo of pork after it is cut and ready to be sell. I designed to logos of the product heart and the slogan “Utopia By Order made”, which means the riches and order whatever body they want to extend their lives. Then I made a wire sculpture heart to mimic the product and to display the logo.
The future steps of this project may dig into more about the “Order made” side of the organs, like adding luxury brand features, diamonds or other fashion elements.
