This triptych of a public art sculpture continues the discussion about how much trash people dump in our waterways and environments every year. While the compression sculpture is very in-your-face impactful when blocking the view of the river at the park, engendering care for the condition of the river, what happens when we leave the park and go home? Do we remember the river when we're home? What signals do we have in our private spaces to make us think about public impact? Are commitments in-situ more than vapors? Hopefully this artwork can carry the new resolution into the habitat habitual, such as prompting changes in recycling or product packaging choices by hanging on the kitchen wall. What will we be leaving behind that tells the story of what kind of people we were? Were we anything but a selfish mess?
