CHARACTER CONCEPT: KILLJOYS
My Chemical Romance is a pretty popular American rock band. In 2010, they released a concept album that focused on a story based in a post-apocalyptic America in the year 2020. In this story’s world, there are characters called Killjoys that roamed the deserts of desolate California with the intent to kill a corporate company responsible for brainwashing America called BL/Ind. My childhood best friend and I created our own characters that fit into this world. We created their backstories, and even designed and constructed their outfits for cosplay purposes. This poster illustration and zine were ways for me to reminisce about the past and remember some of the best moments of my teenage years.
