NO BBQ'S BEFORE 6PM!
A group project as part of our first unit of Visual Communication (Second Year).
We set to create a piece that communicated an idea revolving around the words ‘Dictate’ and ‘Beach’. After researching the rules of the beach we found it odd that there was a set time that BBQs were allowed on the beachfront.
We wanted to explore the idea of what makes a BBQ, finding the definition, “a cooking method, style of food and a name for a gathering”. We wanted to see if we could bend the rules, in order to have our much desired BBQ.
Our next step was to come up with an idea of a quirky way of creating a BBQ, avoiding the traditional routines. We thought of using a lighter instead of charcoal meaning that the whole BBQ set up would have to be made to a smaller scale. We created this alongside miniature food to express this more radical approach.
