THE WIZARD OF OZ
BACKGROUND
The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac; Malay: Pentas Seni Kuala Lumpur) in Sentul Park, Kuala Lumpur is one of the established performing art centers in Malaysia. It is a non-profit company, aims to cultivate and sustain the performing arts for the Malaysian.
SYNOPSIS
When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and enroute they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West to earn his help.
CONCEPT
“The Wizard of Oz” are mysterious, fantasy and kind of creepy. Based on the keywords, I decided to go for illustrations. By adding branches, lightning and darker color tone to bring out the mysterious mood.
