In this project, we were supposed to create a pattern that will be incorporated into an illustration of a Hawaiian shirt. During the process of the design, I have drawn an image from one of my watercolors paintings.

 It is a portrait of the female which is inspired by Egon Schiele's style in painting. With the help of some concepts like red flowers, I tried to give a different meaning to the portrait which is representing the Hawaiian nature. We were supposed to work on the image and using it as our template for the design. I had done some research on what Hawaiian shirts are before drawing it in on the illustrator, and my biggest challenges were picking the colors. I aimed to use the set of primary colors that have the ability to evoke emotions and trigger certain reactions, and they needed to represent the Hawaiian colors.
Also, during the process of the design, I had to illustrate the button using on the shirt, and the Aloha label that appeared inside the collar of the shirt. When the design was completed, I had to put the name of mu shirt along with my name, a sample of the button, and a sample of the basic pattern I created and my label.
