Time on Wheels

During the period of my growing up, seeing a brand new car on the street was a sort of spectacle. Many four wheelers were tired old scraps of glass, metal and plastic, seldom driven, exposed to the forces of nature, waiting to fall into oblivion. Some left in the streets, some tucked away in hidden backyards. I went past many of them year after year, always in the same place, still waiting... The sight got engraved in my memory. It evokes emotions each time I see a forgotten oldtimer. This is probably one of the reasons why the oldies were one of my first models once I started tinkering with the camera, and they still are...
