Revamping the exclusive and artistic
wall-covering brand’s identity from floor
to ceiling




Since 2014, Alexia de Ville has been hand-drawing and designing luxury wallpaper that transforms interiors with a good dose of the imaginary. We were approached to create a graphic universe that would truly reflect the brand’s idiosyncrasies, as well as to develop an online platform into which customers could immerse themselves.

The bespoke font we created gave a touch of character to all of the brand’s communication tools, working to convey the unique and sumptuous aspect of their products and services. The visual system was conceived in order to stand the test of time, and to fit with each new season of patterns. ​

A thin gold line acts not only as a touch of opulence, but also as a common thread repeated on business cards, catalogues and invitations. It recalls the join between each length of wallpaper, and also might remind some of the japanese kintsugi practise of filling in cracks with pure gold. Storytelling is an important part of the design process for Atelier de Ville, and this gold line hints to that.




In order to showcase the brand’s ever-evolving collection of prints, we designed a sleek website and e-shop. The platform’s muted tones invites the visitor to dive deep into all the patterns and illustrations available. A functional and responsive online store allows customers to browse and order samples, while the blog and brand history pages give an insider view on the creative process.
