Project Invert is a project based on my Tisa series of designs and illustrations that comprise of 9 pieces of art. I wanted to create a collection that was cohesive and used Invert as the first step into a world of many more designs. After university closed due to the current global pandemic, I decided it was time to start showcasing some of the works that I have done throughout my life as a designer.

This project has been a reflective process in that I remember the first time I dived into design software (I told someone that I could do something on Photoshop when in reality I had no idea so that evening I had to download the application, watch tutorials and learn what the pen tool was, how to mask objects among other tools available… I would watch 8-minute videos and do the same project as trial in 2 – 3 hours - It’s been an amazing journey!) that and has helped me map out plan what I want future projects to be.

In the beginning there was a Roboto I, a logo based on one of my favourite movies Big Hero 6 and one of current school essays on artificial intelligence and glitch textiles and in the end there was Fire Spirit, a memorabilia artwork that was one of the first one did when watching a tutorial. This project has been minimal in its use of simple shapes to create illustrations that I have loved. Each of these has been a great exploration of my design developments and techniques with support for the notion that ‘less is more’.

The start of Invert has really given me a focus for my design work and there is more do to do, more learn, more to appreciate and finally grow because I believe that that is the most important part of any process; growth.
