Animals in the Verge of Extinction
During quarantine, I decided to experiment on painting watercolour animals. The animals I chose were animals that are almost extinct due to multiple problems. I wanted to remind people that these poor animals are in out there in the wild, but are endanger
1. Sumatran Orangutan
This beautiful animal is called an Orangutan. Orangutans are three extant species of great apes native to Indonesia and Malaysia. Orangutans are currently found in the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra, but during the Pleistocene they ranged throughout Southeast Asia and South China.
Sadly, Sumatran Orangutans are in the verge of extinction. Due to habitat destruction for palm oil plants. The illegal wildlife trade captures young orangutans and kills their mother. Illegal poaching and conflicts with humans are also contributing to their endangerment.
