Academic Drawings (personal works)

A series of drawings exploring academic techniques.
Jubilee. Graphite on Hahnemühle paper (170g), ca. 30 x 40 cm.
Sketch one of the Tower avens from a photo of my 2016 trip to London. According to the website this should be "Jubilee" due to his golden ring.

Virginia Woolf. Graphite on Hahnemühle paper (170g), ca. 30 x 35 cm.
Drawn after a photograph by George Charles Beresford from 1902. An exercise in proportions and soft focus.

Peter Capaldi. Graphite on paper (170g), ca. 40 x 60 cm.
While indeed guilty of being a Whovian, this face caught me since seeing Daniel Fooks' oil paintings of the actor in the 2011 BP Portrait Exhibition. You rarely see such a cubist face. I can totally relate to why Fooks chose to paint a series. It's quite impossible to capture it in a single image.
